Had one of the best fun days fishing for ages. Matt and I fished Furnace Mill fishery in Worcestershire with a #6 fly rod for the carp in the Mucky Meadows lake. You can book this pool for fly fishing for up to 4 anglers any time now ( including lunch) and bookings are I believe being taken as I write. In a day of the most absorbing fishing, we took over twenty carp on natural patterns like Elk Hair Caddis and Buzzers and one or two on Deer Hair Pellet flys. You can see the carp and they are not a push over, it’s really interesting fishing. Read all about our day in Trout Fisherman June issue. Sorry thats a long way off but we have to work in advance! Off to catch a rainbow for lunch and then it’s time to start baiting a tench swim!

Hello Mick. I have watched your programmes on tv with Matt Hayes for a long time. I now go pike fishing thanks to yourselves. Is there any chance you will be back on the tv soon?

hi mick i watch you and matt alot on th tv i just started to carp fishing i used to be a coarse fisher .i did not know you can catch carp on fly is it hard and do you need a fly rod.the place i go for carp is only a small place but its got some nice carp in its two pools i think you and matt would love to give it a go its carney pools coarse fishery it has two pools and you able to carervaning and camping its stocked with carp perch tench bream.so mick keep up the fishing and i will keep watching on tv ps hows the best fisher man you or matt

Not fished it John as I haven’t got permission now. Would like to join the trout club but can’t afford it! Had a 20 on fly last week though from a local water!
